U.S. REP SWALWELL AND THE CHINESE SPY

                                              BY WILLIAM JUNEAU

After setting aside his bib overalls from his home town of Sac City, Iowa, Eric Swalwell  went to school and became a lawyer, journeyed to California and in 2011 was elected as a councilman in Dublin, in the Bay area. It was there that he met the  curvaceous, and charming young Chinese woman known as Christine Fang, or by her more mysterious and erotic name of "Fang Fang."

The Fang lady, who came to America in 2010 as a college student, ingratiated herself to the ambitious, 31-year- old Swalwell and she was his right hand as he ran successfully in 2012 for Congress from the 15th district, not far from the home district of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.  Reportedly, Fang Fang did the networking and helped with the fundraising in a race in which Swalwell replaced a veteran Democrat who had been in Congress for many  years.

Swalwell was married, and the Chinese lady, according to his description of her, was merely a networking specialist and glad hander, nothing more. The FBI has said that the woman was romantically assisting at least two city mayors, and the wholesome relationship which Democrat Swalwell  claimed with the charming Fang, has been viewed with deep suspicion by agents and by investigative journalists from the Axios Web site.

His first term in the People's house was followed by reelection in 2014, and the comely Fang, in published photos,  stood proudly alongside the grinning Congressman.

In 2015,  the congressman was appointed by his mentor Pelosi to a seat on the House Intelligence Committee, although his persona and analytical talents were never widely admired by his peers.  Members of that special committee are briefed regularly with highly classified information pertaining to the country and its relationship with nations around the world. Such information is not shared with peer congressmen or with most elected officials.  In short, only the committee knows what the President knows.

Useful to Speaker Pelosi, she lifted him from obscurity and gave him a seat on the Intelligence Committee and on the House Judiciary Committee.  He was her gopher, ready to do her wishes, although he lacked respect from Republicans and even some members of his own Democratic party.  Republicans regarded him as sort of a witless prevaricator who belonged back in Sac City, Iowa.

Axios, with its investigative staff, revealed in early December of this year that the FBI had discovered in 2015 that Swalwell's showcased Chinese aide was an assigned agent of Red Chinese government with a mission of endearing herself to America's up-and-coming politicians and was tasked with providing inside information to Communist superiors.

Swalwell was quietly dressed down by the FBI for his gullible submission to Fang, who had also arranged for a Chinese woman friend to be installed and to work as an intern in his congressional office. The five years of  Swalwell's Chinese "collusion" was unknown to journalists until Axios started digging.

In their expose which consumed a year of investigation, Axios reported that the congressman, now sitting as a member of the select Intelligence committee, pleaded ignorance to Fang's Red China connections, and averred that there was no "pillow talk" with her. His relationship with the shapely Fang, he said,  was purely platonic and professional.

Axios investigators said that the FBI sensed that their relationship ran much deeper.  It had confirmed that the fetching Fang Fang was having sexual  trysts with at least two, midwest city mayors. The congressman promised to be more careful of his associations, and Speaker Pelosi defended her protege's fealty, asserting that he knew nothing of Fang's mission in the USA.

After the election of President Trump in 2016, Swalwell was out front claiming that President Trump was disloyal to the country; had been whoring around with Russians and was seditious in his behavior.  Joined by Pelosi, they castigated the President for "colluding" with Russians and Swalwell denounced a Trump son for a meeting with a Russian citizen. He was a regular face on liberal TV stations pointing to the traitorous behavior of Trump and his allies

Responding to Axios, Congressman Swalwell said that he was unaware of Fang background and that she disappeared in 2015 and that he has not seen or heard from her or the intern for the better part of five years. President Trump was out to get me, and leaked information to Axios," said Swalwell. He acknowledged also that he and his wife were divorced in 2015 but that his relationship with Fang Fang was not a factor. He remarried Brittany Watts in in 2016.

Revelations of the alleged misconduct of Swalwell by associating for five years with a Chinese spy, has elicited demands that the Congressman resign or be removed as a member of the House Intelligence committee. A principal in making the demand is Republican Minority leader of the House, Rep. Kevin McCarthy,  who has charged that Swalwell had been "compromised," and can be blackmailed.  It proscribes his continuing as a member, he said.

McCarthy also lashed out at Speaker Pelosi who had appointed Swalwell to the important committee and retained him as a member knowing of his close association for five years with a Chinese spy.  McCarthy, a Republican,  is an elected congressman from California and a strong supporter and ally of President Trump.

Concerns of China interference in the United States have been voiced by John Radcliff, director of Intelligence in America.  The threat, he said, is "grave and very real."

The chairman of the Intelligencer Committee is Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff, also a California congressman.  With Pelosi's blessings, he has been the principal attack dog of the President over the past four years.  Schiff, Pelosi and Swalwell have repeatedly claimed that they have direct evidence that President Trump "colluded" with Russia, but their comments have been shown to be a wild assortment of lies. In 2019, following a 22-month investigation, a  special investigator concluded that President Trump had never colluded or conspired with Russia in any way.

In April of this year (2020) Swalwell announced that he was running for President.  His candidacy was suspended four months later after he appeared on the Democratic debate stage, and  his fumbling and obtuse proposals concerning gun control and new policies made supporters flee and induced him to withdraw.

Swalwell said that he intends to remain as a member of the Intelligence committee and Speaker Pelosi has said that the FBI never established any misconduct on the part of Swalwell and  that he will remain in that position.

Questioned by newsmen, Speaker Pelosi said that "I don't have any concerns about Mr. Swalwell."  After the 2015 FBI disclosures, the leaderships of the House and of the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees were informed. “When that was made known to members of Congress, it was over,” she asserted.

Nevertheless, Republicans and others complain that the manipulatable Swalwell has been "compromised" and is a security risk and does not belong on any select committee-- or in Congress.
